SLIP RINGS

ICC refills and manufactures complete new slip rings, as well as designing slip rings to specific applications. Widely varied in style and complexity, these products range in size from approximately 2" in diameter to more than 18" in diameter, and include 2 rings to 17+ ring units.

Slip rings vary substantially in design, ranging from simple round lead units, to complex molded conversions, and split ring designs. Material availability for specialty units may affect deliveries by several days or even weeks. For example, naval brass and stainless steel for high-moisture applications typically add a 1-2 week material delivery in addition to manufacturing time.

Typical slip ring and lead materials also have varying current carrying capacities, and changing them may have detrimental effects to operation. For example, if copper is considered at 100% IACS (or full conductivity), bronze and steel are typically on 12-13% IACS versus brass which is typically about 23% IACS.
