About ICC International
Our History
Located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains; ICC International is the leading manufacturer of large industrial commutators and slip rings for electric motor repair.
Founded in 1983 in Maryville, Tennessee, ICC was built on a strong commitment to excellence for our employees, customers, and business partners.
ICC became a trusted leader for the DC motor industry when it introduced North America’s first emergency commutator service, the Red Alert Service, in 1986. This groundbreaking approach set a new standard for rapid response and reliability, ensuring customers could minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
In 2003, the company was purchased by the Lyke family and has remained under the same ownership ever since. Under the family’s leadership and vision, ICC has grown the business by 600%, expanding its capabilities and solidifying its reputation as an industry leader.
During Laura Lyke’s tenure as President and CEO, ICC was recognized with several prestigious awards for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustained growth in the industry. These accolades included the 2022 Woman-Owned Business Excellence Award from Pinnacle Business Awards and Blount County’s Small Business of the Year in 2018. ICC was also named among America’s fastest-growing companies and earned its spot on the Inc. 5,000 list in 2020 and 2021, then again in 2024.
At the end of 2022, ICC International lost its long-time leader and industry champion, Laura Lyke. Shawn Lyke assumed the company’s leadership as President and CEO, flanked by CFO and General Manager Tracy Queen.
Today, ICC maintains its legacy of commitment to advancing the DC industry with the same passion, innovation, and dedication to excellence that has defined it for decades.
